I have made five of these small bags. They are called Snap Happy by Stitchin' Sisters and the little purses "snap" closed by using a metal carpenter tape to form a hinge. All three sizes are included and they give directions for making additional sizes.
The fabric is Happy Camper by American Jane for Moda.
The Prairie Points (brown on one side and red on the other) are where you can pull them open. One photo shows them lying flat and the others I stuffed so you can see them open. The three sizes nest into each other so easily wrap into a small gift.

Those bags are really sweet! I Love them!
Very cute. Love your fabric choices.
Mary those are very interesting and pretty. An excellent idea for a gift and then use as a cosmetic bag if needed too.
WOW, what a neat idea... Were they easy to make? Did you just use an old metal tape measure?
I need to look for this pattern...
I love the fabrics you used! they are so darn cute!!
Very cute, Mary!
How cute! This is another project I'm going to add to my to-do list! Thank so much for sharing.
How cute! Your certainly are making progress on those Christmas gifts.
I love the bags, I need the pattern! They look like great gifts to make and give away. Thanks for showing them.
Hey Mary! I have that pattern too AND I made one last year. I use it to hold my iTouch and ear buds in my lunch bag. But I need to make another one as the metal tape finally broke through the edges on the top. I think this time I'm going to make the metal tape a tad shorter than the directions say. Maybe that will help.
these are so cute!
