Small Item Sewing

Fun sewing has been filling in the infrequent gaps in my busy life lately.

This is my favorite - the Sew Together Bag by Sew demented. The pattern is available on Craftsy.

The inside has three zipper pockets along with four open storage areas that all close with a zipper that closes to form a handle. Very clever pattern and I may be the last person to make one.

Next is the Dumpling Pouch which is a free tutorial from Michelle's Patterns and was sent off in a swap with other goodies. It's tiny - only 5.25" X 3.5".

I was a little late on gifts for new great-nephews Josiah and Chester. They got bibs and burp clothes.

We had a great time with the grandkids this weekend because it warmed up enough to go sledding and building a snowman!

I have a secret gift I'm hoping to finish and show next week.

Happy Thanksgiving!

My Crazy Trip!

No, I haven't been traveling! I just finished my scrappy trip quilt which I named My Crazy Trip.

This quilt started out a a fabric pull from my stash to use in a little demo I was doing at a Minneapolis Modern Quilt Guild meeting. I made a sample if each step of the Scrappy Trip using the tutorial from Quiltville. I received great feedback from everyone on my unusual fabric choices so I finished this quilt.

It is 64" x72". And yes some of the blue bled into the border and backing which is Michael Miller Cotton Couture in Vanilla. I washed in cold water gentle cycle with two Color Catchers. Not happy about that.

I love being the costume maker!

Halloween has passed and I want to share the costumes I made for my grandchildren.

First is Brandon the Mouse!

Yes, he is that smiley!

Next is My Pretty Pony Audrey and Knight in Armor Sir Vince.

Love making the grandchildren's (and children's) dreams come true!

Hope your Halloween was happy!
