Happy New Year!

Hope you have carved out some stitching time between the holidays! I have a few things I can show and there are a few that have to remain secret until after grandbaby's shower!

 

This is the Sleep Sac pattern from Anna Maria Horner and the piggy fabric is the softest corduroy from Get Together by David Walker for Free Spirit.

Here is Vincent in the Art Museum Vest and Trousers pattern by Oliver & S that I made him earlier this fall. He was the star of the show at the family Christmas gathering.

I made my Mom a Bliss by Bonnie and Camille for Moda fabric quilt a while ago and always meant to making matching pillow cases. I finally got around to it.

The photo also shows a plastic bag storage/dispenser that I made for Mom.

Busy busy busy!

I'm sure you are too! Here are a few things I've been working on:

A dress for this little girl. She wore it when we all went to the play "A Year In The Life of Frog and Toad". So fun. See that little guy in the background of the above photo? He enjoyed the play too! The fabric is Wee Woodlands by Keiki for Moda. Pattern is Kwik Sew #3664.

This was a fun project with some fabric from the Lush Uptown line by Erin Michael for Moda. Lots of fun using quilt as you go.

 

Furry fun footy jammies! Pattern is Classic Footed PJs by peek-a-boo pattern shop.

My first boxie pouch. Fabric is DS Designs and tutorial is called (No Guts) Boxie Pouch by So Chick Melissa Strong. It is free and can be found on Craftsy HERE.

Celebrating a quilt top finish!

I work on this quilt for a long time, but really only since summer. I used ALL fabrics from my stash. I was stuck when I got to that last border. I even tried ordering fabric TWICE to use; neither one worked. I kept the quilt up on my design wall and looked at it every day as I continued with other projects and every once in a while pulled something from my stash to try. Finally:

 

I was thinking it had to be navy, but orange was the right color after all! This is my finished top for my Marcelle Medalion by Alexia Abegg. It measures 59 inches square. Now to find the right backing.

Fun pattern testing

I just finished the quilt top of a patttern I tested for Lynne of Lily's Quilts. She has named it "The Tube" and it has four different versions.

The version I tested has sixteen inch blocks and the quilt is 56" X 56" finished. I was pretty proud of using ONLY the fabrics from my stash for this quilt! I think it is a smashing design. Lynne will be releasing the pattern soon. I think i will follow her lead on the quilting with straight lines in black but not until the new year.

I also finished the top for a Spicy Spiral table topper but still need to quilt it.

The fabric is mostly Rouenerries by French General and I'm happy with the color range.

There was the most beautiful sunrise this morning over the lake with sun dogs:

The lake isn't completely frozen over yet, but will be soon with the below zero temperatures overnight for the next week. Brrrrrr.......

Sewing Update

Realizing I was LATE with my November block for the Mid-Century Modern bee, I got busy and started pulling fabric last night and reading the tutorial by Heather of House of Ala Mode for the Spider Web block. This was great fun if you have lots of scraps!

November's queen bee, Rene', asked for a low volume center and to not join the blocks so she can mix them up when she arranges all the blocks she received. I think it's going to be beautiful.

I finished a knit sewing project earlier in the week:

Knit has some tricky requirements, but so comfortable for the wearer! I also made some leggings but they didn't fit in the photo. The pattern is from Butterick over 30 years ago! I made this same pattern for my daughter back then.
