I was invited to join the Mid-Century Modern Quilt Bee by a retreat friend and could't wait to get started. In fact, I have already finished my January block!
Carla asked for four churn dash blocks out of pink, orange and red to be sewn into a twelve inch finished block.
Here is my block for Carla:
Can you tell I had fun pulling these fabrics from my stash and making this? Well, I did.
Not sure what I'm going to do for my month, but it is not until August.

Mary, those fabrics are fabulous!
I love the block so much! Thank you, Mary...it will be a lot of fun to "sew" with you, I can tell already!
Mary this looks great! It was fun to work with Carla's colors. I haven't even thought about what design or color, but I also have a while. I am excited to see what is up next month.
The bee sounds like a lot of fun and the blocks are exciting looking in that colour scheme.
So fun! I have one more churn dash to make then assemble. Great stash fabrics by the way.
Amazing how what we think of as a traditional block can look so contemporary in different fabrics and colors. Love these fabrics, Mary.
Absolutely my favorite colors! Your blocks sort of woke me up this morning..hehehehe Beautiful, as usual!
Cheery wave!

Looks like a fun Bee, and your blocks are delicious!
I love the boldness of the blocks. Carla will love it too.
This is wild! I love it! This is going to be a great bee!
Oooo-weee, baby! I love these! So bright and fun! When I was a kid, I had a bedroom that had pink and orange plaid wallpaper. I had a canopy bed with white bedding and with pink and orange butterflies on it. When I tell some people that, they gag....Pink and orange?! But it was really quite pretty. Just like these blocks! (and it was the '70s, after all!) LOVE!
How exciting! What fun! That is one cool block :-) I look forward to seeing your bee blocks this year :-)
fabulous! I love orange and pink together.
Gorgeous! I already know I can't wait to see what this bee does this year!
