I spent quite a lot of time this past week cutting, sewing and trimming blocks for this quilt:
The fabric is:
Monaluna for birch fabrics
Echo by Lotta Jansdotter
It's a Hoot by MoMo for Moda
The pattern is:
Birthday Cake Quilt by Elizabeth Hartman of Oh Fransson
I love that wide stripe for the binding.
Binding completely done by machine using my method in my tutorial.
Lots going on so it should be a great play quilt:
It's 48" by 48" and should be a good size for a baby quilt.
Oh, I love the back too:
Squiggly lines two by two bordered by the birds! It stayed nice and soft.
One down, one to go! Another niece is due before the end of the year.

Pretty quilt Mary. The baby will have such fun looking at all the fun fabrics!
I love it, Mary! Great fabrics and lots going on. So, simple blocks was the way to go. I love the striped border, too!
Fun quilt--great pattern for a baby quilt & shows off the fabric nicely!
What a cute quilt, baby will have lots of fun looking at it. I just finished a quilt for a grand-niece and I have a grand-nephew coming in April so I have to get on it to. I love making baby quilts but these are the first ones in five years. Have a wonderful day.
Lovely and bright for a baby to explore all the fun fabrics..
