Sherbet Pips Mondo Bag

Last time I made the Mondo Bag pattern by Quiltsmart, I used the printed fusible grid and separately cut each of my 2 1/2 inch squares (208 of them).

This time, I made my own fusible grid, but used a Sherbet Pips by Aneela Hoey for Moda Jelly Roll.

Combination of reasons, but this one was much easier and faster:

One Last Swap...

This swap was just too fun to pass up!
set up up a simple one to one not secret swap based on her great tutorial:

The deadline isn't until April 18th, but I'm mailing this to Jane in WA tomorrow:

The requirements were to use Victoria's signature "made" fabric for the background and then the two lilies which have the much loved "Y" seams.
It was a fun time, I used up lots of scraps and learned a few things.
Hope Jane likes it.

Doll Quilt Finish

This quilt is going to be really hard to send away:

I finished hand sewing the binding this afternoon on the deck.
There was quite a bit of action on the lake...docks going in and people trying out their boats.
I did the quilting yesterday:
I didn't think it needed a lot. This quilt is about 20 inches square.
This NY Star pattern is by Daniel Rouse of Piece and Press. Thank you Daniel.

This round of the Doll Quilt Swap required at least any six blocks from a list of six traditional blocks.
The NY Star could be four - one for each quadrant - so I was short two.
Luckily my "swap mama" had a great idea....put two blocks on the back.
All set!  This is going in the mail to my partner Wednesday - after I bring it for show and tell at my guild meeting Tuesday.

I've been thinking about this for a few weeks and here is my start:

One of the block options is the New York Star and it's time for me to make one! This paper piecing is getting addicting.

Three "Baprons"

Yes, Baprons!
Those would be "baby aprons"!

I used the tutorial from Craftiness Is Not Optional along with laminate from the Sugar & Spice by the Quilted Fish for Riley Blake Designs and made the bias tape from a Michael Miller dot.
The bigger one is for Audrey, the smaller one for Alice and the other one for our church festival.

March Two's Company Bee Block

I was on a roll with finishing the February block (late) for Jackie in the Two's Company Bee
so I decided to keep going and finish Mary B.'s block for March EARLY!

I have to say that Mary B. came up with a brilliant block and color scheme for this two color bee!  I love it and wish I had a quilt out of these same blocks.  AND it was so fun to make too!

I really can't wait to see Mary B's finished quilt.  This block will go in the mail tomorrow.

We're Home!

We traveled about 8,000 miles in our car since we left. It will be a while before I'll do another road trip.
We were gone for almost eight weeks and it's great to be home except for:
the snow
the cold wind
I'm so glad to be home because of:
our families
soft water
our own bed
the view out our window
I missed this wall of art from quilty friends around the country:
I'll be adding to it since I joined two swaps:
Doll Quilt Swap 12
Lily Wall Hanging Swap
I'll be starting on those very soon.
I worked on this project on the way home:

I
I thought I would finish the embroidery, but not quite.
