Mary I do not think you used too much red. The block looks great. I am looking forward to seeing how the quilt gets quilted. How cool to catch your own food.
I think your block is just fine. I am doing that jelly roll quilt-along, too. I think I am not going to position the blocks in the order in which we are making them....will see which blocks look best next to each other before I decide my layout.
I think the block will look just great with the others. I was able to get a quilt to the quilter, so I know what you mean. What a name for a fish. Don't think I have had them before.
No such thing as too much red. I just love your Merry-Go-Round quilt. I thought you'd done a miss spell thinking you meant crabs, until I saw the photo.

I think your block looks wonderful. In my opinion, there is no such thing as too much red!
You can never have too much red.

Red... especially the one from Simple abundance is like potato chips... you can never have too much.
I love the red, looks like you have enough contrast in there to me. Can't wait to see the Authentic quilt finished.
The red is awesome! Looks great and I can't wait to see Merry Go Round once it's back from the quilters.
Too much red? Not possible! I'll bet my DH would love those crappies too...he used to live on White Bear Lake!
NO such thing as too much red. Great quilts! No idea what to do with those fish - maybe if someone else skinned em. :)
You can never ever have too much red. Love the block.
Love the red block....just love it. Your quilt is so darn cute. I'm excited to see it with the quilting.
