I finally made my Three by Three blocks from the Anina of Twittletails swap into a flimsy. Unusual color for sashings? What do you think?
The colors are much brighter than they show. Click on the photo to see truer colors. I don't have time to quilt it right now, but at least the front is together!

Have you seen all of the great Valentine ideas on Sew Mama Sew?
Well, I saw this Danish Woven Heart in this list of projects and had to give it a try.
I used craft felt and some Valentine fabric I won from Sandi at A Legacy of Stitches.
It's a little basket when you open it up (and there you see the heart fabric) and I added a caramel and gave it to my Mom this morning.

Pretty nine patches! I love your sashing. I have mine sewn into rows but haven't sewn them together yet.
Cute heart.
Yes! I love the darker sashing and the fact that you did the unusual. It's LOVELY and so is the woven heart. I used to work with some Danish people and they were always making these as ornaments at Christmas! How fun!
That reminds me...I need to do something with my swap 9-patches, too. Your top looks great!
I like that color sashing.....I think it lets all the other colors show up nicely and doesn't compete with them. Nice Valentine project, too.
Love the quilt! The sashing color is unusual, but it works well! Cute heart!
I like the dark sashings. It is unique and very complementing of the blocks.
Great quilt and what a sweet Valentine you made for your mom.
Mary ~ I love all of your Valentine projects!
I like the sashing and border color ~ just wait till it's quilted, then it'll really show you how good it looks! Lovely hearts, too. Happy Valentines. :-D
Love the flimsy and the sashing colors. It brings out the colors in the 9 patches. Very nice.
Wow good stuff Mary. I've been busy. Sandi and Anina are great. Love the sashing.
Very cute!
I love what you lined the heart with! So cute!
