This quilt has been working it's way through the process since last summer and I'm very happy to have it finished.
The pattern is Arithmetic by In Color Order, the fabric is all from the Tule line by Leah Duncan for Art Gallery fabrics and I quilted it all with variegated 50 wt. Aurifil thread.
I may do a better photo one day when the snow goes away and the sun comes out.

I finished my Fancy Fox quilt this week. The pattern is by Elizabeth Hartman and it was so fun to make.
The fabrics for the fox came from six consecutive shades from a stack of Kona fat quarters in the red colorway. The background is Essex yarn dyed cotton/linen in natural.
I quilted with a 50wt. Aurifil variegated thread. I noticed after I photographed it that I missed two rows of quilting. I did go back and add them.
The pattern has a variety of sizes and I made something in between baby and throw. It's 42" X 52" and the pattern designer included the eyeglass pattern on her blog. I chose to do raw edge applique with fusible. I didn't take a picture of the back but it is an organic cotton with an all over fox print.
Hand quilted feedsack quilt finish
You may have seen this last summer when I finished the top. It is called Rummage and the pattern is by Sandy Dunphy.
I finished hand quilting and binding it on our way to / during / and on our way back from Florida.
I enjoyed this so much that I feel bad it is finished and I don't have anything else ready to quilt right now.
Guess I'll have to do something about that.

For my part I would like to show you how I created That Crazy Eight wall hanging shown above.
I had never sewn with Oakshott previously and I also wanted to try bias tape for applique so I incorporated both in this project. I learned Oakshott is wonderful!

Clover Bias Tape Maker 3/8" (9mm)
Clover Fusible Web (5mm)
Fusible interfacing (light weight)
Iron
Clover design sheet
Directions:
1. Draw a teardrop shape on paper and trace it 16 times on the smooth side of the interfacing. Mine are approximately 7".
2. Cut out each teardrop roughly about 1/2" outside of the drawn line.
3. Choose eight pair of coordinating colors from the 10" pieces of Oakshott.
5. Sew on the drawn line all the way around the teardrop shape.
6. Trim points and clip curves.
7. Cut about a 3" slit in the interfacing and turn right side out, poking the point out with a skewer or other tool to make it smooth.
8. Finger press each teardrop so interfacing does not show from the front.
9. Prepare approximately eight yards of fusible bias tape according to package directions using a color of Oakshott that matches or contrasts your background (I chose Amalfi to match my background).
10. Lay out and form your figure eight using your fusible bias tape in a manner instructed in the Bias Tape Maker packaging. (Place two teardrop paper shapes to match those used for the pattern under your Clover Design Sheet to make your figure eight design out of the bias tape.) Hide the cut ends under the crossover of the eights.
11. Cut a piece of background fabric approximately 28" X 28". Fold in half lightly both ways to help center your design. Lay out the pairs of teardrops shapes on the background in an arrangement that is pleasing to you and with an equal margin around each piece. Lay the fusible bias tape figure eight over the Oakshott shapes covering all the edges.
12. Using a pressing cloth, carefully press and lightly attach all pieces to the background.
13. Top stitch the bias binding along both edges and in the center.
14. Layer backing, batting an completed front, baste, quilt and bind as desired.
I chose to pebble stitch around the outside of Those Crazy Eights first and then hand quilt three rows inside each color section.

I made my pillow using Amy's Moving Mosaic pattern for an 18 1/2 inch pillow. I chose seven Kona Cotton colors to compliment a quilt I have in progress. The instructions were very clear and easy to follow considering there are lots of pieces in this design. I did a simple line quilting with Aurifil #40 to match each of the colors of Kona.

I've been sewing a lot the past few weeks and hopefully three projects will be revealed here on my blog before I head back North the end of the month.
I do have a few things to share. I swapped with an Instagram friend from Norway. I purchased and sent some Denyse Schmidt fabric from Joann's that is not available there. In return she crocheted and sent these adorable gnome ornaments plus the felted wool ball ornaments! They are both so cute and I considered myself very lucky.
We had another lovely day on Fort Myers Beach and someone had made these cute sand sculptures.
We went to see the Budweiser Clydesdales at a local shopping center and watched while they hitched them. Later I got an amazing video of the whole team as they paraded by right in front of us. I am in awe of the precision and training of these huge animals.
I'll be back with actual SEWING soon.
I am continuing to mix my time in the sun with sewing. I finished this t-shirt quilt and sent it on it's way!
