Patchwork, Please Zakka Along 2.0

I haven't been making a project every week on the Patchwork, Please Zakka Along 2.0, but this one really caught my eye:

The focus fabric was from the scrap bin (not even sure what it is?) ETA:  Memento from Amy Butlers Loce collection identified by Sarah of Fairy Face Designs and then started digging for all the just right solids to compliment it.  I had just enough left of the scrap (after piecing it quite a few times) to make the binding.
I was going to topstitch around each hexagon, but decided once was enough and more would be distracting.
This is from Patchwork, Please book by Ayumi Takahashi.
ETA:  This "trivet" is 8 1/2" in diameter and the paper piecing pattern is in the book.   I was unable to respond to some commenter questions.

Really lovely! I made a bag from that focus fabric, it's called Memento from Amy Butlers Loce collection. Great choice!

This is a great little project. I agree with selecting the ones you like and only doing those. Makes it far more enjoyable.

I love the topstitch! I think you made a good call to just do it around one of them.

Ha-I knew that fabric right off, too, glad I'm not the only fabric "weirdo" (No offense, Sarah!) I need to buy this book immediately.
