Ilsa Handlebar Basket
You know sometimes you just don't get what a pattern is telling you? Well this pattern had all the steps in the right order, I just was obviously on another wave length.
I'm happy with the end result, did lots of "unsewing" so I spent WAY more time on this project than I expected.
Yes, this is a basket that attaches to your bike's handlebars that you can take off and carry to the farmer's market or an ice cream cone stop. I had some cute fabric that I thought would make an unexpected lining. The drawstring keeps your contents safe.
The wrap around straps have Velcro and d-rings to attach the basket to your handlebars. They are nicely out of the way when carrying the bag.

So FAR behind on my reading... I think I need to borrow this pattern from you. I have a great metal basket on my bike but how fabulous would this be to carry my lunch to work in!
Incidentally, I have this same fabric covering the work table in my sewing room. LOVE it.
