Mr. Turkey

When I should have been finishing other projects this week, I instead got caught up in making Mr. Turkey:

I saw this tutorial over at Missouri Star Quilt Company and quickly ordered a layer cake of Awesome by Sandy Gervais.

He was so fun to making using a Dresden ruler.  I left the beak, tie and feet unquilted to give extra dimension to the wall hanging.  I had enough fabric left from the tail feathers, to make a three inch scrappy border.
The light fabrics from the layer cake are the background.

Edit:  He's 49.5" by 49.5"!

If you would like to see Mr. Turkey once more, you can vote for him here at the Thanksgiving/Gratitude quilt competition at Quilt Gallery

Thank you.  Happy Thanksgiving.
Now back to the Christmas sewing.

I was actually making the quilt to fit a double bed, and just recently I completed on it, same way my sister created quilt. I really feel that quilting is such a enjoyable work.
