I kept warm this week. I live in the midwest and work in a factory with NO air conditioning. Not a good weight loss plan but effective none the less!

Janet said...

The decals are so cute!! I kept cool with lots of icey lemonade and a small fan in my sewing room. Our heat index was 109 one day. We took the afternoons off and stayed inside. I loved having the time to sew on my June Bug quilt.

I have kept cool the good old fashioned way - Air Conditioning! Ha ha! I'm pretty frugal with the A/C but when things get into the 90s I go for it! Thanks for the chance to win. I have a little lonely fat quarter of the Tea Party line that would love some friends.

Great giveaway Mary!! Truthfully it has not been as hot here in Florida as in the rest of the country. But in Florida we do have great Air conditioners in our homes and cars :-) Thanks for including me in your giveaway.

Thanks for hosting this giveaway, how fun! I have just cracked a window when things got a little warm...but warm here is 70.

Well I have no AC - fan power and lots of showers! Love the FQ sets - yellow is so lacking in my stash.

I am home on disabilty after surgery and both kids are gone. I hunkered down with the A/C in the house and cut out my 2nd quilt - a pinwheel sampler. Thank you for the chance to win - a fellow Minnesotan.

I love that fabric! :) I kept cool by turning on the air conditioning until it was actually cold in my house :) My Dad treated me to a chocolate malt :) YUM!

I hate to say I had to keep warm this week, and I live in France and this is suppose to be the summer!! It was so cold I had to hunt out a jumper!! We should be in the high 30s and yesterday was 15 degrees Brrrr ...it's going to be a long long winter LOL. Linda

Our weather is so wonky that I had to keep cool with fans in the windows then the next day I had to snuggle under an afghan I was crocheting to keep warm!

that decal is adorable and yes it would go on my quilt as soon as it arrives if I am lucky enough to be the winner!
such cute fabric would love to make a little quilt with them....ok staying cool these past few days has been tough! staying inside the air conditioned house has helped and running errands in the early am has helped.
Drinking lots of ice tea. Today it should be 96 lets just say you can find me in my sewing room today

I kept cool by turning on the a/c in the afternoon! my husband likes to leave it on, though, so I've been freezing at night.

Wonderful giveaway, love it.

We are keeping warm with quilts, our winters are short here in Brisbane/Australia but you do need a quilt to snuggle on the sofa

cheers

Mary, thank you for the chance to win. I kept cool by dipping in the pool and pretty much staying in my sewing room with the fan at full blast.

LeKaQuilt said...

Hi, I'll kept warm by quilts.....

Pat said...

I manage to stay cool by not moving quickly.....staying indoors as much as possible (where we have a/c)....staying hydrated and giving up my early-morning walks (which makes me sad but it was necessary as it's been too humid even then to walk). The decals sure look cute...and fabric is always good, isn't it? :)

Staying cool ay? Well, to be cool yesterday I let my boys sleep in and then I took them to African Safari Animal Park....they thought I was very "Cool." As for the heat....there is no staying cool if you go outside....so I just decided to be "the cool mom" instead of being "cool"..:)

Great giveaway! Please count me in! Last night was a small storm that cooled air.

I haven't kept cool, but I have been enjoying baseball with my kids. I did make neckties with polymers in them to keep the kids cool between innings. I will be happy when the heat breaks just a bit.

Kate said...

Does hiding in the house after 10 am with the blinds shut and the AC on full count? We're also going to try the local tiny water park to see if that keeps us cool.

Anya said...

I've been spending a lot of time in my basement quilting studio! Thanks for the chance!

Keeping cool here by drinking lots of water and enjoying the air conditioning and beautiful view I have from the seat in my sewing room.

I kept cool by staying in the a/c. I'm cleaning my sewing room, and it's in the basement - the coolest part of the house. I'm hoping to find the sewing machine soon and do some sewing. Love that fabric!!

I have stayed cool this week by NOT going outside. I stay in under the A/C and the whirling ceiling fans. Thanks for the opportunity to enter your great giveaway.

I'm staying cool by staying inside as much as possible! Thank goodness for air conditioning and fans! LOL Thanks for the great giveaway! :0)

Thanks for the great giveaway! It's unseasonably warm up north in Maine. I've been suffering for two weeks now. I've never owned an air conditioner, but the thought has crossed my mind lately! I have ceiling fans to help with the hot air. I take a cool shower then sit under the fan :-) At night I open the windows and try to cool the house. I hope the heatwave ends soon!

Vicki W said...

I haven't seen the car decals before, they are brilliant! I'm not very creative about the heat. I just stay inside and crank up the A/C.

Diane H said...

Love those decals! Thanks for letting us know about them - they would make wonderful little gifts.
Our basement stays much cooler than upstairs so that's where we are sleeping in this heat. Thanks for a chance in your giveaway, Mary.

Deb said...

I had a tough time keeping cool this week, since temps have been around 100 all week, and very humid. Stayed indoors as much as possible!

beth said...

Love your giveaway! The heat's not too bad where I am. Keep cool!

Anita said...

I open every single window in my house in the morning, then close them up and draw the shades/curtains by 9 or 10 in the morning. And then around noon, I give in and turn on the AC.

Down here in Alabama, I'm not sure it's possible to keep cool, but we try! I drink about a gallon of ice cold sweet tea a day, and rinse my tootsies off with the hose any time I'm outside. It helps! I sure would like to win; now THAT would be cool!

Well, the day before my brunch the AC broke. I was starting to sweat it. Luckily, the repairman came and a hefty bill and we were all set to cook and party. Love those tea pots...what a nice giveaway. Many Thanks.

Thanks for the chance to win your wonderful giveaway. Susan Branch is one of my favourite artists and I love her fabrics. I kept warm this week. Since I live on the wet (west) coast of Vancouver Island, temps here are around 70 -72 degrees. Quite pleasant really. Especially for quilting.

Well it's supposed to be summer here in the UK but it's dull, overcast and showery! In fact yesterday was only 15 degrees in the morning!
Typical British Summer! Coats on everyone!

Mommarock said...

Well it is for sure a matter of keeping cool here.. 18 days in a row of 100 degrees or more.. YUCK!! It is a matter of staying INSIDE in the Air conditioning as much as possible.. The heat is makes me feel horrible. Leave me the A/C thank you!

Sallie said...

Staying cool by staying in the A/C, drinking peach tea. May go for a snowcone later. Thanks for the giveaway!

I am in Seattle this week and it is 61 degrees, I had to go buy a little jacket and some enclosed shoes...I know I am pathetic...but I hate to be cold....that is why I am an island girl....

Doris said...

I kept cool by staying in the AC. I am such a wimp when it comes to extreme heat or extreme cold... I should, move somewhere a little more temperate, huh?

Karen said...

I've been keeping cool by staying inside with the AC running! Also, I've been drinking Crystal Light Pink Lemonade with lots of ice. Plus, ice cream for a cooling treat.

Heaven forbid if there's a power outage....guess we'd have to just deal with the heat and humidity...perish the thought.

Hugs, Karen

Keeping cool is not too difficult where we live. We live right near the San Francisco Bay and cool breezes prevail. Houses here have no A/C. You actually need to put the heater on occasionally at night.

I went home to Iowa last weekend for our 82nd Linn Family Reunion. It was way too hot. I was on my feet from 9:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. and rarely sat down. Pictures of me show me with a very red face. That's how I kept hot. That evening I cooled down with a big chocolate malt. Yum! Cute giveaway, Mary. I love Susan Branch's designs and am looking forward to fall when I will feel like drinking a cup of hot tea instead of iced tea!

At &PM here in Md it was 98 degrees F (feels like 103 according to weather.com). We have the AC cranked so cold that Im actually cold and my feet are freezing!

Ha! There is NO staying cool in South Georgia these days. We have had several days with the heat index around 108-100. I am way too cheap to adjust my thermostat, so I have been dealing as best I can, wearing as little as possible...haha. No complaints though :) Thanks for the giveaway! It would be a hoot having the sewing decal on my car, which I share with my 17 year old son. He would just die :)

I kept cool by staying close to the air conditioning. Thankfully yesterday and today we're having a break from the heat and have beautiful weather. Thanks for the giveaway chance! :)

I stayed cool in the car with the a/c on....at home a little a/c & a few tower fans. At work, my co-worker keeps setting the a/c down to 60*f, so today I have a long-sleeved top on to stay warm! LOL

Thanks for the chance! :D

Anne said...

I kept cool by staying in my sewing room. It's next to the central air unit, so it's the coldest room in my house.

Amy said...

I'm staying inside in the a/c, much like everyone else! It's 108 here in the shade, and that doesn't mean the heat index - that's the temp! I plan to stay in the a/c too....

Thanks for the giveaway!!

What a cute giveaway! I kept cool by not venturing outside very much.

Michele T said...

We are in a heat wave so to keep cool I kept all the windows in the house shut, drew the curtains, turned on the furnace to blow the cool air from the basement upstairs and enjoyed some popsicles :- )

WoolenSails said...

I didn't keep cool, lol. Today is the worst, can't even go in the pool, it is that bad. I stay in the air during the day and then late in the afternoon I jump in the pool and then water the garden while I am still wet;)

Our AC broke Tues am and was repaired late TH - it was up to 93 in the house - we opened windows and doors, pulled out 3 fans from storage as well as using ceiling fan - took a cold shower and went out to eat dinner in an AC restaurant.

Janet said...

As our temperatures here this week ranged between 50 and 75 to 80 F there wasn't a lot of need to do either. We had a fire in the woodstove one evening when it was cool and DH wasn't feeling great. Today was a bit of a scorcher (for us), probably 85 or so, but we're having an extended rainfall now which is cooling things off nicely. Only issue is that I just finished watering the garden. :)

Julia said...

I just moved from where it is 104 degrees to a place that tops out 78 degrees with intermittent serious rain. I'm lucky if I know how to dress each day! But the general plan is to open the house in the morning then close it up tight. Mostly I decided not to let weather dictate what I do or don't do. I'm going with what I got! Off to sew! I wish. Off to unpack the sewing room!

Catskill Quilter said...

I kept cool by keeping the shades drawn, moving one of my treadles into the family room by the tv, only turning on the lights aimed at the treadle needle and sewing space, and making disappearing 4 patch blocks. Fun giveaway. Love the decals, and teapot fabrics.

What a great giveaway! I live in the Southern part of Texas, and we are so hot and dry that it's more than miserable. I've TRIED to stay cool by staying inside, and the poor AC hasn't cut off yet.I've also tried to fix meals that don't require heating up the kitchen much. Other than that, i spend time sewing or stitching, because heaven forbid that I might sweat and lose a pound. LOL

Well, I am keeping cool by staying home in my AC with the ceiling fans and not doing a lot of cooking that involves too much of the oven or stove. Smoothies, salads, sandwiches, etc. Makes life easier too.
thanks for a chance.
hope it is cooler up north for you!

Mom C said...

Swamp cooler and ceiling fans. If I get desperate there's always the basement.

Janet said...

What neat decals! The fabric is pretty cute too.I would so put that on my car too. It's been too stormy and cold here this last week so I stayed in and had a quilt on my lapto work on, it's the best way.

mrs.burkette said...

I've made sure the windows are CLOSED since it's been so muggy it's worse inside with they're open! And when it starts to get too muggy inside and the fans can't keep me cool enough, then the AC gets turned on. :)

Shelley said...

Oh Mary, I love your giveaway LOL! We were lucky this week in that the hostel where we stay for the week, while David takes his treatments, is fully air conditioned. When this fails to keep me cool, I get a really cold facecloth and lay it on my face and collapse on the bed under the fan LOL...yeah, not a pretty picture but it helps LOL! Hoping next week is cooler!!
