Sew Domestic Studio Blog Tour

Kristina at Sew Domestic is hosting a studio blog tour. Go see other studios (including hers) at Sew Domestic.

I've never considered my space a "studio" and you may think I chose the wrong photo for this post.

a. What do you use your space for? My "studio" looks like this because my MIL just left this A.M. to return to Phoenix after her visit and my sister and BIL from Texas are coming this evening to stay. Yes, my "studio" is also the guest bedroom.

b. What is your favorite thing about your space? I like the proximity to the rest of the house so I am not off where I don't know what's going on.

c. What struggles do you have with your space? As mentioned, it is also the guest bedroom, so no quilting or scrap booking happens when we have guests (being on the lake we have frequent summer guests).

d. When do you use your space? I use my space whenever it is available.

e. Share an organizational technique that works for you. Since we have one king size bed and one queen size bed, under bed storage containers with wheels work great. I have most of my stash and WIP stored under these two beds.

Mary we share the exact sewing studio.
My DH is in the process of making my daughters room the guest room but we have really procrastinated on that process.

Hia Mary, a)my room has been doubling as a guest room too. b)Mainly though it is my space where I can leave fabrics laid out to audition them and know they wont be disturbed. This is a huge plus as elsewhere in the house they would have to be moved at the end of a sewing sesh. c) We are trying to sell the house at the mo so I can't let things get too messy in there. d) I use it as soon as I've done whatever house chores need doing then I put on Radio 7 which has vintage stories on all day and sew listening to them. e) I've organised the room into various work stations so the cutting mat always has a desk place and the sewing machines are all ready to sew in theirs. This saves so much time and lets me use even just 10 minutes in a coffee break.

No matter where you sew, it is still nice because you get to sew. It is also nice to have company from time to time. Summer seems to pass too quickly then your machine will be humming away.

It looks like you've made your "studio" space work to the best of its ability, Mary! I like calling mine the studio because it really makes me want to work in there!
Cheers!
