Need Your Opinion Please...

I have the center of two baby quilts together using Swanky, have solid peachy-pink, tiny polka dot, floral and white fabric. How many and what border to put on each?
One is 4 1/2 inch finished pinwheel and the other is 7 1/2 inch whirlygig. What do you think?

Hi Mary,

I would put 2 borders on each - One small one large. The floral print for the larger border and the small spotty one for the smaller.

I think I would do white borders on both and bind top one in solid peach then polka dot on bottom quilt.

Hi Mary,
I think 2 borders would be nice. I like white for the inside border and the larger floral for the outside border. The quilt with the 4 1/2" block could have a 2" white inner with a 3"-4" inch outer. The larger whirlygig borders could be just a little larger than the other. Either way these are fabulous quilts!!

The bottom one I would use the darker peach as a narrow border then the white as a wider border. The upper picture I would use a medium white border, then a large floral border. I'm no expert though. Play with them in both daylight and electric light and see what works for you.

I agree with Fiona, double border. Love your creations. Anxious to see finished quilt>

Mary both baby quilts are pretty...love the peach color. I would frame the quilts with 2 borders. The fisrt border in white and then the second in one of the peach fabrics. On the fisrt quilt maybe a 2" and 3.5" border and the second one a 2.5" and a 4" border. But I am sure you will end up with a pretty quilt and love to see your finished quilts.

I would definitely use two borders...the peachy color for one of them for sure, and then maybe the blue or another colour from the top that you want to emphasize.

Top photo - smaller solid orange border then wider orange polka dot border
bottom photo - smaller solid white border and then floral border.
Of course that would change if the second quilt is for a boy baby....
Cute quilts....

Sweet little quilts. I'm sure whichever borders you choose, they will be right. :)

Hi Mary, Your baby quilts are lovely! I too would put two borders on the baby quilts. First a small inner border made from the white solid fabric, perhaps 1 inch to 1.5 inches wide and then a larger floral outer border up to 4 or 5 inches wide. Hope this helps! Can't wait to see them finished!

Top photo I would put a narrow white border and then one of the peachies two or three times the size of the narrow border....for the bottom photo I would also use two borders....which a peachie first and white as the wider border. The flower print might be a little busy for the border, but would be really sweet on the back. :)
