DQS11 - the quilt I made for the latest Doll Quilt Swap

I just finished my quilt for the Doll Quilt Swap:

This quilt is 9 1/2 inches square
and the small squares are 1/2 inch.
I hope the person who receives it likes it.  I sure had fun making it.
And the winners are 56 and 103 - Lisa and Kd:

We've been out of the HOT zone, but we still open up all the windows and really cool down the house every morning, then close it up tight! I've taken to ironing out on the back porch with the deer and the birds. Lovely! ~Kd www.KdQuilts.com

My goal was to finish the flimsy for my king size Single Girl.  I sewed like crazy the entire three days, but failed.
I left with:
  •  558 circle pieces
  •  144 inner and outer arc pieces
  • a total of  702 pieces
 I came home with:
  • 18 circle pieces
  • 36 inner and outer arc pieces
  •  54 completed arcs
  • for a total of 108 pieces

And after more stitching since I returned home, I now have
72 completed arcs

plus the two previously completed circles!!  I think I can finish this!! Stay tuned!

If you read any or all of the other blogs, you will know we sewed, ate, talked and laughed the whole weekend (throw a LITTLE sleep in there)!
Plans were discussed for this talented group to gather again next year.

Blogger Quilt Retreat Here I Come!

I'm getting packed for our second annual Blogger's Quilt Retreat which starts tomorrow morning.  Most of us from last year (minus a few very SPECIAL ones) and then a few new to the retreat.

We had SUCH a great time last year, I know it's going to be fun.  Again, I am the only one from Minnesota and it's taking place in Minnesota (Yay!).
Here's what I'll be working on:

I have ALL the pieces cut out for a King Size Single Girl and I'm determined to get it together this weekend.  I have a few other projects packed (in case I finish Single Girl or I can't look at it any longer.

Wish me luck on getting this top together.

Ric Rac did get quilted and bound in time to use on the table for our Fourth of July celebration:

I don't know if you can see the quilting, but I sewed straight lines crossways across the quilt, added a print bias binding sewn on the back, brought around to the front and finished with a star stitch.

Audrey was out swimming and on the pontoon with us last week:

Shortly after this she fell asleep and slept until we woke her when we got back to the house.
