Super Duper Excited!! AccuQuilt GO! Baby Give Away!!

This giveaway closed at 8:00 PM Central Time !

This is why I'm Super Duper Excited:

I get to give one of THESE to one of you!!!

Yes, an AccuQuilt GO! Baby Fabric Cutter and three die of your choice!!
I had so much fun using mine to make my Drunkard's Path table runner for the tutorial and have a few more tutorials planned.

So here is how you can enter this give away:
Each person gets one entry but must meet all three of these qualifications to get that ONE entry:

+++
Read carefully!
1.  You must have an active quilting blog that shows a quilt you made within the past six months.  I want this AccuQuilt GO! Baby to go to someone who is going to use it.  This eliminates skeleton blogs just set up to enter a give away.

2.  You must be a follower of my blog.

3.  (I have set my blog to hide comments at this time so you can't see other people's comments.  I will show them after the give away is complete.)
Leave a comment telling me:
  • how you chose one of your children's names or how your parents chose your name or something interesting about your name
  • AND include my granddaughter's name in your comment (I show her photo and mention her name quite often on my blog.)

+++

This giveaway will end at 8 P.M. Central Time on Sunday June 26th and will be announced within the following two days.

This give away is over! Comments Closed.

I am a follower... :) I do have an active quilting blog. :)

I was named after Jennifer O'Neill. the actress that is in the movie "Summer of 42". At least that's what my mom tells me.

Debi said...

Yeah, I can now leave a comment! Your granddaugther's name is Audrey and she is adorable! My daughter Melissa was named after the two little girls on House on the Prairie (which was a hit in 1977!). How awesome to win a baby GO!

Kate said...

I'm a follower, and I had to go back and check - I thought it was Ava, but your granddaughter is Audrey. :)
My son's name is Russell, and he's named after his grandfather - he's the fourth Russell in five generations. My father had only daughters, but we promised to carry on the tradition and name the first grandson Russell.

How exciting! I hope I win, I hope I win...

My blog is http://hangingonbyaneedleandthread.blogspot.com/ and I've finished several quilts in the past week, so you can be guaranteed that I will use a Go!Baby to death if I do win.

Your blog is (and has been for some time) listed in my favorite blogs list on my blog, but I will also follow if it's mandatory to enter.

My mother named me Susan because all of her dolls were named Susie when she was little.

Your sweet granddaughter's name is Audrey!

Thanks for the chance to win and I'm keeping my fingers crossed until Sunday (which will make quilting very difficult)!

Jocelyn said...

My name is pretty unusual. My Mom told me when she was expecting me she was listening to a radio program and someone on the program was named Jocelyn. She liked it and that was that! And your sweet granddaughter is Audrey. You can be sure I would put this GO!Baby to very good use :-) Thanks for the giveaway.

Your granddaughter Audrey has a beautiful name. My daughters name is Mya and I honestly cannot tell you how I thought of this name I just new, as soon as I got pregnant that she would be called Mya and refered to my bump as Mya, no other name even entered my mind. Perhaps it was subliminal as I kept seeing the name crop up in film and soap credits. I liked that way of looking for names. Baby name book names wernt as interesting. Anyhow, please sign me up for the giveaway I have a blog and love quilting so it would be really interesting to give this a go so I would love the opportunity to win :-)

I think I barely qualify for this giveaway. I completed my Mother's quilt just before Christmas. http://theunfocusedlife.blogspot.com/2011/01/maxine-quilt-wip-and-finale.html

I have also been doing a Layer Cake quilt along which I post about from time to time. And, I am almost finished with another quilt and plan to blog about that. I've been updated my flickr album with pictures from those quilts: http://www.flickr.com/photos/48187203@N03/ I am a SLOW quilter. But, I do quilt and sew. :-)

My blog isn't just about quilting. I have a variety of interests and I probably drive people batty because I'm so unfocused. That's why my blog is named Unfocused! Ha!

Anyway,

1) My name was chosen by my dad. The story goes is my mother handed me to Dad and said, "Here! you may name her as she is the last!" I am the 4th child and the only girl. Dad named me after Miss America -- Lee Ann Meriwether as he like both the lady and the name. I'm so glad he did because they would have named a girl Stephanie with the others before me. I like the name 'Lee Ann' so much better!

2) By the way, you have the cutest granddaughter named Audrey. :-)

(Yes, I cut and pasted this from an email to you. I am lazy like that. :-)

Thank you so much for the chance to win one of these!

Nancy said...

hm...does this REALLY mean I am first? or does it matter that you have hid the comments...lol

We named our first daughter Jennifer...until we saw her...then she didn't look anything like a Jennifer so we changed her name to Karen...Now I can't imagine calling her anything else...
The same daughter almost named her third daughter Audrey!! Really!! But they ended up naming her Abigail..

Thanks for a chance to win...I LOVE your drunkards path. I hope to hand piece one of those one of these days!!

Thanks for the giveaway chance! The Baby Go looks like fun. I've been wanting to do an Apple Core quilt for a long time, but never wanted to cut them all by hand. Maybe I'll win???

Your granddaughter's name is Audrey. My children's names were chosen just because we liked them. We also wanted names from the Bible, so that's what we went with.

I'm a follower of yours, and have a blog http://troublesomecreekquilts.blogspot.com/. I guess I'm an "active" poster, but I've been pretty lame lately, since I got a puppy!

Oooo this is different. Okay..have a current blog (tick) show a quilt I have made in last 6 months (tick. Follow your blog (tick). I don't have children so it's how my parents chose my name, I have two names, Linda was picked by my Dad and my brother and my Mum didn't have a say in it so...she gave me Margaret as my middle name, and I am the only one with two names. Your granddaughter's name...would that be the Little Miss Audrey and beautiful she is too!! Thanks for the chance to win, and thanks for making it fun.

Marie said...

I have absolutly no idea how my parents chose my name !!! There was however an arguement over my sisters name.

Audrey (Aubrey) ... A .... something ... at any rate when she's that darn cute she doesn't need a name!

Thanks!
Marie

Thanks for an awesome giveaway!

I got my name from family, my moms middle name is Audrey, and it was her aunts name too.

And I cant forget your granddaughters name since its my own, Audrey ;)

Have a great day!

I just chose my children's names from a baby name book. I had chosen the name SUSAN for my third child...but a month before she was born my friend gave birth to a little girl and named her SUZANNE. Since we would be spending quite a bit of time with these friends I quickly chose another name...JANE.
Your granddaughter's name is Audrey. Thanks for the opportunity to win a fun toy!

Julia said...

I follow your blog! My blog is www.committingmyway.blogspot.com. It isn't primarily a quilting blog but I do post what I am making. I sew all the time so I would definitely use this.
I don't have any kids yet so I will tell you about my name. My parents chose my first name after my great-grandmother. Everyone says I am a lot like her too. Unfortunately I never met her.

Your adorable granddaughter's name is Audrey.

Think I covered everything!

Wendy said...

Yay! I do have an active blog and I do know I've had several completed quilts shown at http://why-knot-kwilt.blogspot.com. I really enjoy reading your blog, Miss Mary, especially seeing pictures of your Little Miss Audrey ... her eyelashes are darling!! My mother named me after the song "Windy" by the Associations and the funny thing about it is if you listen to the lyrics about smiling, saying hi and eyes flashing at the sound of lies ... it describes who I am to a "t" I'm proud to say :) Thank you so much for this opportunity, Mary!!

Apple Avenue Quilts said...

Wow Mary, I hope you choose me. About my name...I was born on George Washington's birthday and all my Aunts thought I should be named Georgia or Martha. Thank goodness Mom stuck to her guns and named me Jill. It fits much better. Also on the children front, we were having a terrible time finding a name for a boy with our oldest. Then we watched Gunsmoke and Matthew seemed perfect. I think a lot of people watched Gunsmoke that year because Matthew was the number one boys name. By the way, I love the name Audrey, I have a niece by that name and she is wonderful and, by the way, your Audrey seems to be wonderful too! I am a follower and have finished and blogged about a quilt recently. Thank you so much for the chance!

Doris said...

Well I was named Doris after a sister of my Dad's, whom I never met, and a good teenage friend of my Mom's... I always find it to be old-fashioned and always wished I could have been a Lynda, a Lisa or an Audrey. ;-)

Quilty Conscience said...

Okay...My name is Toni Ann. I was named for both of my great grandmothers. Fortunately, with my mother having to live with the legal name of Constance, there was no way she was going to saddle me with Antoinette!

And as for Miss Audrey...too cute and that happens to be the name of my favorite Aunt.

I love your blog. There are beautiful quilts and great tutorials. I've yet tried your machine sewn binding, but I will be doing so soon! Thank you for this opportunity! Toni

I've been a follower for quite a while and I love your blog. Your granddaughter's name is Audrey. My name: my mother nearly miscarried me and being the very good Catholic she was, she prayed to a cousin of hers who had been a nun and is on some sort of sainthood waiting list (or was, anyway) saying that she would name me after her if I was born a healthy baby. So, Sister Miriam Teresa is responsible for my being named Theresa Ann.

Liz M. said...

Audrey is very cute :)

My real name was chosen because it was my aunt's middle name, and at that point, the family was getting along. It also had the maximum number of nicknames of any name my parents could come up with. My grandmothers, however, were very unhappy, and each wanted me named after themselves, including their maiden names. Things got so acrimonious on the topic that my mother, in tears, told them that if they didn't stop, she would name me anaximander. She didn't, ultimately, but now I use it as an online handle in a few places.

Moneik said...

I was insistent on naming our new daughter with the middle name Marie since it was my and my mom's middle name and mom was living just to see our little girl be born. Mom passed away just 3 weeks after Mikaela was born. So my hubby got to pick the first name of Mikaela which was the girl he had a crush on in first grade. It is also the feminine version of his middle name Michael and his dad is Michael. So we say she is named after her parents and grandparents. I got to choose the spelling of Mikaela since I like unique name spellings.

How exciting! Thanks for giving me a chance!

I chose my daughter's name Felicity Perpetua after some early Christian martyrs. The two names together mean Perpetual Happiness and it suits her quite well!

Your grand daughter's name is Audrey and she is a cute, cute, cutie!

Your GD name is Audrey. My dd name is Annalise. I loved the name. Seriously, no family relation or anything. I heard Annalise is a soap opera actress in the UK, hmm. I'd love to win an AccuQuilt because I make lots of baby quilts for charity and Project Linus. I am a follower :) Thanks for the chance!

Greetings, Mary!

1. I have an active quilting blog (you've visited it): http://LivelyStitches.blogspot.com

2. I am a follower of your blog

3. My first pregnancy was almost a miscarriage, and I subsequently spent most of it on bedrest. I had a chance to develop a closeness with the little one inside of me, and determined many months before delivery that the baby's name would be Lana (similar to my name) if it was a girl--kind of like a namesake. My husband determined the middle name would be Karis, which is Greek for grace.

AND your granddaughter's name is Audrey. :)

Well your lovely Audrey is a darling. Her and my Miss Allison are a pair. I'd love to win one of these babies. I don't know that I'm listed as a "follower" but I couldn't be more of a follower of you. I love your blog. I think naming is so hard. Some of my kids we just came up with names for. But my 18 year old Laurie (I still call her my little Laurie) was named for my niece that died when she was 4. And that Laurie was named for my cousin. So it is a family name. And I love it because I love those 2 Lauries so much. Laurie was my favorite cousin growing up and Laurie my niece's death was so tragic. But naming my Laurie made me remember that life goes on and we all move through problems.

Love love the AccuQuilt.

I'd love a "GO". My oldest Daughter has her 29th B-day tomorrow. for her name I combined my Middle name (Adell) and added My Mother's first initial (N) and Capitalized the D = NaDell.
I was named for both of my Grandmothers. Your Grand-daughter, Audrey is lucky to have a quilting Grandma. I made a Pink and White Quilt in January for my Namesake Grand-daughter- Abigail Mary.

My dad gave me my first name Darlene and my middle name Leah was actually the middle name of my great aunt. I was honored to have my first granddaughter also have my middle name. My sister was named Rachel (Rachel and Leah were sisters in the bible). How cool is that?

Your precious granddaughter's name is Audrey - and such a cutie pie.

Winning a GO cutter would be such a blessing to me (details on my blog) so I thank you for the opportunity :-)

Blessings,
Darlene

I am a follower, but I must have missed the Go baby tutorial....been a bad bad blogger lately.

Maybe if I had a girl I would have named her Audrey? I only had sons, I had a locker mate named Kevin, he was not even really a friend but when I had my first son, we named him Kevin and then Andrew after his dad. Naming five sons was not easy.

What fun to be able to give a Go baby away!

I'm now a "follower" follower, but you've been on my blogroll for quite a while. ;D

My oldest daughter was going to be a "Jessica," but one day when I was working at JoAnn Fabrics, a woman was in with her adorable, precious 3yo, and kept cussing at her over and over and over. After hearing so much "Heather blank blank blank," (and several unsuccessful attempts by many folks to intervene), I was so sick to my stomach that I had to find a new baby name. I liked my cousin's name, and adored some *beautiful* long blonde hair on a coworker who shared that name, so "Heather" became our baby's name.

Do you mean Audrey? :)

Hello Mary :-) I am super excited about your giveaway!
I have an active blog, I am a follower ( I thought I was a follower before, but I guess I wasn't, sorry! I'm definitely a follower now! ) I am "Michele with one L" and people call me that sometimes. I have heard other Micheles refer to themselves as "Michele with one L", even a radio personality in our area! Audrey is such a cute little girl :-) and she looks adorable in the clothes you make for her!

Amelia said...

I don't have any kiddos yet so I'll tell you about my name. No exciting stories about how my parents chose Amelia, simply they liked it. Apparently Amelia means "industrious". My middle name is Alexandra after my grandfather ... yes you heard that right! I was the 4th daughter in my family and since they hadn't had any sons they changed my grandfather's middle name Alexander to Alexandra and gave it to me as a middle name. My grandfather was a wonderful man, so it means a lot to me!!
Your darling granddaughter's name is Audrey and you make the most adorable outfits for her :)
Thanks for an amazing giveaway!!

Hi Mary,

How cool is that about you getting to give away a GO Baby. I read your blog all the time but didn't realize I hadn't ever signed up to be a follower, I did that just now. I make quilts all the time which you know cause you read my blog. I was named after my Aunt, first and middle name. People always want to tack an "e" on the end on my name, no "e" it's just Carol. Your little granddaughter, that would be the adorable Audrey. Little sweetie pie. Have a great day Mary.

I was name after my mom's sister, Mary.
If I would have had a daughter I would have had a "Deane" after my sister's name.
I call my boy's by their middle names...everybody on my husband's side of the family goes by their middle name. How is that for trivia...LOL

What I really want to win is the three dies! Hee!!

I'm so glad I checked back. I tried to leave a comment yesterday and for some reason couldn't.

Audrey is such a sweet heart... I've always loved that name. My kids??? No one is named after anyone... accept for the son we lost.. he was named for his father and great-great grandfather. We just picked names we liked.

I have entered about a dozen giveaways for a GO!... hoping this one is the winner.

Hugs!

I have linked your blog to my blog when I first started it, I love the pictures that you post of your little sweetie, Audrey. She is sooo adorable! I have all boys at my home...but came from a family of all girls. I have 4 sisters. I am the oldest and was a premie arriving 3 monthes early. Back then, mortality rates weren't great and my parents needed a name quick since I was baptised in the delivery room. So mom named me after a soap opera character from her favorite soap at the time. Cynthia.... I love my name... my parents celebrate their 50th anniversary on the 17th. That's a little clue as to how long ago I was born. :) Happy quilting!

What an awesome giveaway! I've been following your blog for quite some time and enjoy seeing pictures of your quilts, your tutorials, and your grandbaby Audrey! My parents chose to call me Meaghan - a very popular baby name at the time - and gave me this impossible "real Irish spelling." I'm going to go easier on my kids and give them a simple common spelling!

Hi.. first off my first name is actually Jocelyn. My dad wanted me to be named Joyce after my mother but my mum took a fancy to the name Lyn as that was the name of the midwife at my birth. Add the two together and you get me...Jocelyn. Nifty compromise!
Personally I always wished they'd named me Hannah... after my grandma but you can't win em all!

Your gorgeous grandaughter is called Audrey... so cute.

I love the Go! Cutter and have some dies, but I do not have the Go! Baby (this might be easier on my back). I have an active blog and I am a follower. I am named after a city in Armenia. I was supposed to be named after my grandmother, but it was such an "old" name that my aunt and mother fought with her. Needless to say, my grandmother never forgave me...how sad is that, especially since I didn't have anything to do with it?

Your granddaughter's name is Audrey, and she is cute as a button.

Great giveaway, Mary! Technically, I'm not a "follower" of your blog, but I have you on my blog roll so I read your posts regularly. And Nicholas is a very, very Russian name. Thanks for the chance for the great giveaway!

My daughter's name is Ariel. Not named after the mermaid. She came a little bit before the movie came out, but we sure gots lots of mileage out of it! I had her named picked out for so long (way before we even thought about having kids), I forget where I got it from (I know I had a book with that name at some point). My husband likes to joke that I had the named picked out before I picked him out - LOL!

Okay, I think I meet all the requirements, so, count me in. Here is my name story, well, my baby's name story:

I really love family names, so we chose Silas because my husband's name is Josiah and he was called "Si" as a nickname, now we call our little guy "Si", so they can share a nickname, but still have their own names. Even better, we discovered a few weeks before his birth that he has a great, great, great grandfather also named Silas!

And your adorable granddaughter is Audrey, but I admit I had to look through your posts because I couldn't remember for the life of me!

Hi Mary,
I am a follower of your blog and have you on my blog list. My proper name is Anna Marie and it is my first name- not hyphenated and both have a capital. My parents chose it because they liked the name. My mother is of Swedish descent and there are lots of Anna's there. I did not go to school with any Anna's until I was in college. I attended a history class and there were three of us with slight variations of my name Anna, Anna Marie and Ann Marie in a class of 20. Pretty amazing...
I use Anna almost exclusively now but I can tell which people knew me as a child or young adult.
Thanks for the chance to win the go- oh and your grand baby's name is Audrey. She is beautiful.
Regards from Western Canada,
Anna
I do have an active blog and I am currently making a quilt from a Bonnie Hunter pattern - Twisted strips.

Wow, you sure have a great prize to give away! :) Oh well, choosing my childrens names hasn't been the easiest. I have to choose them from the Hungarian baby name book we picked up while visiting Hungary. My husband's family came from Hungary to the US during WWII and have continued the traditional Hungarian names ever since. It's fun and I really like my kids names.. they'll never have another child by their name in school.
(and your cutie little granddaughter is Audrey... she has the best eyes!)

I'm a follower, so got that one out of the way. And my blog is fairly new (started blogging in January). I've got a quilt photo that was posted a month ago, and got another quilt photo that will be posted soon.

How I chose my children's names - I have twin daughters, and I wanted their initials to be the same. No real reason why I came up with the names I did. But isn't it funny how people/family members either like or dislike a name because of someone they have known. Anyway, I ended up with the names "Holly" and "Heather". I didn't realize until later that Holly and Heather are both yard plants. Crazy, huh?

AND your granddaughter's name is Audrey, and she is a cutie-pie. I'm a grandmother too. And I can recognize a cutie-pie a mile away!

Thanks for offering this wonderful cutter, I have been thinking about using my cricut E to cut shapes when I need them but haven't gotten that far yet. I'm fairly new to quilting and have 2 quilt tops completely pieced, 1 almost finished and have several more tops I'm working on. My daughters name is Stephanie Kay and she is named after my dad and mom, Stephanie comes from Stephen and Kay is my moms middle name. I believe your granddaughters name is Audrey. Thanks again for offering this great cutter.

Your granddaughters name is Audrey.

No funny story about names. When my ex and I were talking about names for our baby (now 21), we had said that Jacob Andrew was a possibility. One day a friend said they'd heard we'd named the baby Jacob Andrew. My Ex was telling everyone that was going to be the name because it was the only name we could half way agree on.

I am a follower.

I'd love to be entered.

My 3rd son is named Desmond...Looking for a 3rd boy name, I went through my mom's yearbook from 1958. When I saw Desmond, it just struck me as one that I liked, and it stuck. Not everyone was too keen on it, but I liked it. And it fits him quite nicely now. I'm pretty sure your granddaughter is Jessica--a very cute name!

We compromised on Michael, the name my DH really wanted. I didn't want us to call him Mike in case it became Mikey, so our son is Michael John. My aunt who has a grandson named Michael and a son named John told me that I had picked two bad names:) Bot her Michael and John were quite mischivious.

Well, I am a brand new follower so it took me a little while to find a picture of your sweet granddaughter Audrey. She is a cuties indeed. It's father's day and my grandson was here for a visit - he's Braxton and is 2. Let's see, when I was pregnant with my son I didnt know I was having a boy but wanted one. We chose both Justin and Travis for names. My mom vetoes Travis because her coworker was a young girl who's boyfriend was named Travis and my mom was tired of hearing the name.

I do plenty of quilting and dont always take the time to post on the blog. My blog is relatively new but I find I spend way too much time chatting and entering contests like this one than I probably should. I currently have 7 quilts in various stages of completeness :O. You can visit my blog here: http://ilovescruffydog.blogspot.com/2011/06/this-is-so-pretty-i-cant-claim-credit.html I just finished a quilt top for designer Amanda Murphy which was fun. I think Ive stayed away from applique because when I first did one I was still cutting out forms from cardboard! The giveaway is awesome, thanks!

I am a follower of your blog. My quilting blog is located at sewgratefulquilts@yahoo.com and your adorable little granddaughter's name is Audrey. My name is Linda. In 1946, the year I was born, the song "Linda" was published. I imagine that influenced my parents to name me Linda! Enjoy your blog. Thanks for publishing it.

Love your blog and have been a follower. I named my daughter Kimberly as I had a friend with that name but growing up my daughter always told everyone I named her after Kimberly Road.

Your granddaughter is so cute and her name is Audrey, thanks for the great giveaway, would love to win one.

My name (Rachel) means "ewe" (pronounced "you") which is a female sheep. My parents picked it from the Bible. And your adorable granddaughter is Audrey :)

Something interesting about my name--I was either going to be a Carly or a Lindsay, and I'm a Lindsay. Also, I did not like my middle name growing up (Ryan), because it was a boy's name, but now I think it's cool! Your cutie granddaughter's name is Audrey.

Grace is an old family name - and my daughter's name - the most famous Grace in the line was Grace Katherine Clark who came out to Oregon in the 1800s and nearly died after an attack near the Snake River. She apparently still had the bullet in her side but managed to heal up and go on to marry and have children. I'm 6th generation Oregonian (defected to California though). I'm a new follower, but it looks like your cute granddaughter must be Audrey?
Thanks!

I do have an active blog. I injured my neck in January so haven't been able to quilt as much as I normally would. I did make a quilt for the DQS10 that I posted about here:

I am a blog follower.

Your sweet little Granddaughter Audrey is so adorable! I love how bright her eyes are.

My Father used to love to tell the story of how they chose my name (Robin). When my Mother was in the hospital giving birth a Robin redbreast landed on the windowsill so they decided to call me Robin. Strange story since I was born in Connecticut in February during a blizzard lol.

Audrey is your granddaughter's name. I am a junior, in that I am named after my mother.

How my name was chosen is not that interesting. Dad would NOT let Mom name me Ricky, so she picked Eugene out of a book. Here is the interesting part - Eugene means "well born or noble" guess what? I went to Wellborn High School. Okay so it wasn't that interesting.
Tell Audrey that I said hello. She certainly is a cutie pie.

Love the give away! We named our first daughter Rylee because it was about the only thing I could get daddy to agree on, but if it was all up to me, I would have named her Gwendolyn and call her my little Gwen Doll. :) (just so madly in love with that one for some reason!) Her middle name, Amanda, is after my closest and dearest best friend that has helped me through many hard times, and never has nor will let me down. Our second daughter, Peyton Alexis, was again named the only name daddy and I could agree on, and couldn't agree on until she was already 2 hours old! I was dead set on the name Lyla, daddy not so much. Even though I didn't get to name them what I REALLY wanted, I am glad they have the names they do. It really fits who they are, and will alway be a way to describe my girls rather than a name to call them. I love your grand-daughters name as well. Audrey is what my sister also name one of her 2 daughters as well. She is beautiful, by the way. One lucky Grandma! Oh, and p.s. I haven't finished a quilt recently. I am in the works of one (I promise!!!!) I am not good with keeping up on my blog, nor am I very good at quilting. But I am determined to continue on my journey with my good sewing machine friend! Good luck to everyone, and thank you for being interested in your fans!

I am now a follower of your great blog! I have an active blog at http://sunshowerquilts.blogspot.com My name was from a child's book on international dolls that my older sister had. Thanks for a great give-away!

Your granddaughter's name is Audrey. I have been had you on my reader, but it was before I understood that whole follower thing. My name is Jennifer Edra - My middle name comes from my mom's name Edra, which she got as what her parents thought would be a good female name for Edward.

I have no kids yet so my name story:
My grandmother loved the name Kristen and my mom thought she did too. So when I was born thats what she named me. But after about 30 min my mom changed her mind. She said I didn't look like a Kristen and changed my name to Laura. My grandma said she couldn't because people had already been called and told about me. Mom didn't care and now I'm Laura.

Aundrey is a cutie!

P.S. Have you finished block 1 from the Embroidery 101 QA? I have but haven't posted it yet. I am loving it so far. The post should be up later today.

Well, I absolutely detest my first name but my Mom wanted something that wasn't very common. Ugh! LOL

Your granddaughter's name is Audrey and she's a cutie patootie.

Don't enter my name in your drawing, Mary - I just wanted to play. :-)

Brooke said...

Hi Mary,

This is an exciting give away. Thanks for the chance to enter.

Your LOVELY granddaughter is named Audrey, a name I have always loved, and even considered for my own daughter.

My oldest is named Hannah. I really wanted to name her Grace, but my husband wasn't crazy about that name. Then, one day in church we learned that in Hebrew, Hannah means "God's grace". We both loved "Hannah" and knew that it was the perfect compromise! And the name fits, because she is now a beautiful 18 year old who simply radiates the love and grace of God!

Happy quilting.

Alli said...

Hi! We chose our oldest son's name (Kazuo) because it can mean "first son" or "peaceful man," depending on the kanji. He's about a year older than Audrey. :)

I only recently started a blog (http://byazoo.morepleasethankyou.com), but have been quilting since last year. So far this year, I've completed five quilts, but only got a picture of one. :}

Karen said...

I chose my daughter's name Katherine because it had the same root meaning as my name (pure). And your beautiful granddaughter is Audrey.

Jenelle said...

This isn't an entry because I actually don't meet the qualifications, but I did want to mention something. I know that you would like the go baby to go to someone that will use it rather than resell it or shelve it, but limiting the entries to people who actively blog about quilting is sort of leaving out a huge chunk of people who quilt, but don't have the time or the desire to post about it. For instance I am in your quilt along at clover and violet, but I don't blog about quilting. Grant it I am also new to quilting (newer than the past 6 months). I really hope the go baby goes to a good home and someone gets a lot use out of it, but maybe posting a flickr account with quilt images or actively participating in a quilt-along could also "count". I just felt bummed that I couldn't join in the fun.

Wow! Thanks for an amazing giveaway.

My mom wanted me to be a little different so she spelled my name untraditionally. It's Hollie not Holly. I have lifelong friends who still spell it with a "y". At least my mom got what she wanted. I'm a pretty different, untraditional woman.

I love the name Audrey, by the way. And she sure is a cutie.

Jenelle said...

My mom told me that Jenelle was the name of an actress on a soap that she watched around the time I was born. lol! I think that it's kind of a hilarious anecdote. Your granddaughter's name is Audrey (which is very pretty!). Thanks for the chance to win!

LOL, well I don't have an active blog, cause I don't have a blog but I do have a flickr account, MaryAnn/CA. As I checked the name today I realised I need to post several new things, its been a Spring of baby showers in CA and I've been busy with bibs and burp cloths and even a receiving blanket or 2! I believe I follow your blog too mary, I don't usually use the reader I just pop in and I am sitting at work where the filter keeps me out of the reader to check.
Your granddaughter's name is Audrey. I have a new granddaughter, 5 weeks old who's name is Ilika. It's Sanskrit and means "of the earth" Her middle name is Neve and thats Gallic. My daughter and SIL hadn't picked her name un til 2 hrs before she arrived and then they didn't tell anyone as they wanted to be sure it "fit". She is adorable. (And I don't mind at all if I don't get in the drawing, I just wanted to say Hi)

I follow your blog, your beautiful granddaughter is named Audrey. My daughter is named Erin, she was an unanticipated gift, and named as a consequence of one of her father's first gifts to me; an original artwork page from a DC comic, that discussed fertility sites haha, the first speech bubble said " This is Ireland right?" and Erin is the poetic name for Ireland. Incidentally her middle name is Abigail, which means father's joy, and that has proven so true.

I'm a follower with an active quilting blog. My husband and I liked the meaning of our daughter's name. And, your granddaughter's name is Audrey.

My blog is www.aspenhill.wordpress.com, and it's not easy to access through my profile, but it's there. I've made at least 10 quilts or tops in the last year - everything from 'hoping I get into Houston' to charity quilts pieced from my scrap bin.

My daughter is Kaitlyn - her name is a compromise. I nixed Nicole, DH's first choice, because my sister's best friend growing up was named that and she drove me nuts. Kaitlyn was his 2nd choice. I said OK, but it had to be spelled the most common way.

Your granddaughter is Audrey - love the reversible jacket!

I qualify!!! I've finished a couple quilts this year, even though I'm new to quilting...old to sewing. =) I'm also following your blog and see we are in a couple of the same QAL's...I must've missed you on the flickr page. I try to read all the posts, but my kids are out of school...which means busy.

Let's see...We struggled with choosing our children's names. We wanted Biblical names, but weren't sure on which one. For our son, we prayed for a long time and thought long and hard about what name to choose. When we finally decided on Stephen, we emailed my hubby parents that morning (they are missionaries in Malawi, Africa, so that is the easiest, most cost effective way to communicate.) As we sent the email off, we received an incoming note from them...which had obviously been sent previously. In that note, they said that they had been feeling in their prayers the name Stephen...even though we hadn't mentioned it to anyone! It was a total confirmation for us. When we told my parent, my father was especially touched. His name is Steven and as there are no male grandchildren to carry on his family name, he felt that his legacy would continue in the name of first and only grandson. I love how it all came together. =)

I see you have a little Miss Audrey. =) We have an Audrey in hubby's family...she's in Africa too!

Thanks for a chance to win. =)

Your grandbaby's name is Audrey and she is a cutie! My parents chose my name (Melissa) because my dad used to work on the ski slopes in California when he was in college and he knew a cute "snow bunny" with the same name and wanted me to have it too. I would share my daughter's name story, but I don't use her real name on my blog. I have been quilting for 10 years this summer and just designed my first 2 quilts this in February and March. Thank you for the opportunity!

Hi Mary. I"m a follower in my Google Reader, even if I don't leave comments often! I love to Browse. Oh I would so love to win one of these! I just what I would start with for a quilt with it! And who doesn't love seeing Audrey's cute little face. I think you would like to know how my youngest got her name. My 3 older kids all helped pick names, but my son decided that if the baby was a boy we would name it Michael Jordan or Clifford (boy I was glad it wasn't a boy!) and if it was a girl we would name her Emily Elizabeth! So Emily it is! In fact in a recent job interview the person asked her - "did you know there is an Emily Elizabeth in the Clifford the big red dog stories!

Your grandaughter Audrey is a cutie! I am a blog follower. My parents chose my name after they had been fishing at a lake in nothern Minnesota while on their honeymoon. It was the name of the waitress who served them meals at the little resort they stayed at.

Mommarock said...

I chose my youngest son's name by letting my older two kids pick from a list of names I had chosen. I had already given birth to a boy and a girl, so I made a list of girls and boys names that I loved.. I let my daughter pick a girls name from the girls list that she loved, and my son chose a name from the boys list that he loved.. so when a boy was born.. the name that was chosen from the boys list.. that was his name!

Jewel said...

Hi Mary! Well you know I follow you... and since you follow me I am pretty sure you know I don't have a skeleton blog :) I chose my daughter's name because her father is Irish. I was looking through Irish names and loved some of the big ones like Aislinn and Bronwyn (Even though this is technically a welsh name) but I didn't wan tto saddle her with one that would be so hard to sepll when she was little. So I found Erin and thought it was perfect her father liked it too. So we picked Erin Bronwyn. I love Audrey and want to see more pictures of her :)

Thanks for the giveaway, Mary! I'm a follower! I was named after my two aunts, Felicity and Anne, who were nuns at the time I was born. They were the eldest sisters of each of my parents. They both left the convent later on and then it was a little confusing to have two Felicities around. We went by "little Felicity" and "big Felicity" - many years later my family still sometimes calls me "little Felicity." Congratulations on your beautiful granddaughter Audrey. It's a beautiful name for a lovely girl!

Hi there - although I haven't been as active in quilting this year as last, I did just finish a quilt for my nephew's high school graduation. I've been making some clothing for me and my daughter, and I tend to not blog about apparel sewing (no idea why not!). My daughter Susannah's middle name, Marie, is pretty common, but it's handed down from eldest daughter to eldest daughter, going back quite a few generations in the U.S. and Norway. But I think the name Audrey is lovely!

And you cutie-pie granddaughters name is Audrey. Thanks for having such a great giveaway!

I'm your follower and forever will!
About my name, well I didn't like it while I was growing, it's ok for me now, the main thing I didn't like it was you can't get a nickame for it, I "envy" names which you can call nicknames for them, although I'd preffer other name, it fits with my last name, an old friends to my parents, suggested the name to them and she gave her opinion to other ladies after me.
I have searched about your sweet granddaughter in your blog and her name's Audrey!!!!, she's so cute <3!
Thank you so much for hosting this giveaway!
