Fandango Single Girl

Yes, I'm doing two Fandango project at once:  Fandango Birdie Stitches and Fandango Single Girl!

This is the Single Girl pattern by Denyse Schmidt and I am making it out of Fandango by Kate Spain for Moda along with Kona Cotton in Aqua.  I got my Fandango fatquarter bundle at Quilt Market in Minneapolis last spring and thanks to having a color card, I was able to be confident when I order a BUNCH of Kona Aqua from Jackie at Canton Village Quilt Works!  Great service too!

(Once again - the colors are MUCH prettier than shown here - I had glare off of a new 4" of snow!)

I have completed the plastic templates and ONE BLOCK!  I need to make nineteen more!  I am making a king size quilt for our bed. This may be a long (but fun) project.  I'm leaving tomorrow for two weeks in AZ, so there will be NO progress for a while.

Did you know there is a Single Girl Support Group going on right now to help work together on this project?  I'm a little behind, but that is okay because I am learning from those that started before me.  Check it out on flickr.

Love that fabric selection. Fandango looks great as a Single girl. Are you doing different colors behind the rings? Your first blocks looks really good! *Only* 19 more. LOL! You can do it! : )

That is so pretty, Mary. I love those fabrics! And I think it's pretty awesome when people can sew those curves like that....I'm doing good to sew straight blocks! LOL!

Have fun on your trip to AZ and travel safely!

Cute! I love Fandango. I could tell that was glare off of new snow! I have been having that problem here in Montana as well. Enjoy AZ! You lucky girl!

Love the Fandango with the aqua. Good luck on your single girl project. I am not so brave to attempt but am enjoying seeing others make their blocks. Enjoy AZ!

Hi Mary - this is great! I just got my pattern in the mail this past weekend and I'm researching/gaining confidence before I even attempt it. Did you end up using the paper piecing method or are you going with the templates as they are? Hope you had fun in AZ!

I have been on a blog break and just scrolled through all the things you did that I missed. Everything is lovely! Love the Single Girl and looking forward to seeing how it goes!

I'm on a little vacation and not blogging so I'm really not here. But I had to stop to say hi. Love your work always. This is amazing. I've been wanting to make this but don't have the time. So I'm glad one of my friends is making it! Thanks for being so kind.
