Yes, I'm doing two Fandango project at once: Fandango Birdie Stitches and Fandango Single Girl!
This is the Single Girl pattern by Denyse Schmidt and I am making it out of Fandango by Kate Spain for Moda along with Kona Cotton in Aqua. I got my Fandango fatquarter bundle at Quilt Market in Minneapolis last spring and thanks to having a color card, I was able to be confident when I order a BUNCH of Kona Aqua from Jackie at Canton Village Quilt Works! Great service too!
(Once again - the colors are MUCH prettier than shown here - I had glare off of a new 4" of snow!)
I have completed the plastic templates and ONE BLOCK! I need to make nineteen more! I am making a king size quilt for our bed. This may be a long (but fun) project. I'm leaving tomorrow for two weeks in AZ, so there will be NO progress for a while.
Did you know there is a Single Girl Support Group going on right now to help work together on this project? I'm a little behind, but that is okay because I am learning from those that started before me. Check it out on flickr.

Very nice Mary! I was think of getting the Kona color card and the one for the Bella solids. I think it would make my life SO much easier! Have a great time in AZ!
Beautiful! Enjoy your trip! Where would you buy a color card? I'm new to solid fabrics :)
That aqua is perfect with Fandago. Congratulations on your first finished block.
Looks great, safe travels! (hopefully it'll be spring when you come back!)
Yummm! I love your Single Girl! and the aqua is a great choice! Darn it--I want to make one now!!!
Love that fabric selection. Fandango looks great as a Single girl. Are you doing different colors behind the rings? Your first blocks looks really good! *Only* 19 more. LOL! You can do it! : )
Fabulous fabrics! Those colors are wonderful
Hope you have wonderful weather in AZ. Have fun!
I see alot of people doing this and it is adorable.
That is so pretty, Mary. I love those fabrics! And I think it's pretty awesome when people can sew those curves like that....I'm doing good to sew straight blocks! LOL!
Have fun on your trip to AZ and travel safely!

I am loving this Mary. Loving it all. Keep going. I want to see the rest of it...can hardly sit still in anticipation.
I love Fandango! And it looks so pretty against the background fabric you chose. That's going to be one pretty bed quilt!
Cute! I love Fandango. I could tell that was glare off of new snow! I have been having that problem here in Montana as well. Enjoy AZ! You lucky girl!
:-)
I love Fandango! These are going to be stunning.
Are you headed to AZ for Spring training? I love baseball in the spring especially. And goodness you have been productive, love the softie especially.
I love this...I'm wishing I had bought a lot more Fandango...I'm going to have to look for some more! Have a wonderful time!
The colors are perfect. Well done!

That is the neatest block. It will be a great quilt when you finish.
What a pretty block - but goodness, this one looks really hard! It's going to make a lovely quilt for your bed though! Ah - AZ- hope you're having a wonderful time!!
Gorgeous block! I love those Fandango fabrics.
I love it!! I was wondering what you were doing with the Aqua yardage. What a lovely choice. This will be a spectacular quilt!
Love the Fandango with the aqua. Good luck on your single girl project. I am not so brave to attempt but am enjoying seeing others make their blocks. Enjoy AZ!
Hi Mary - this is great! I just got my pattern in the mail this past weekend and I'm researching/gaining confidence before I even attempt it. Did you end up using the paper piecing method or are you going with the templates as they are? Hope you had fun in AZ!
I have been on a blog break and just scrolled through all the things you did that I missed. Everything is lovely! Love the Single Girl and looking forward to seeing how it goes!
I'm on a little vacation and not blogging so I'm really not here. But I had to stop to say hi. Love your work always. This is amazing. I've been wanting to make this but don't have the time. So I'm glad one of my friends is making it! Thanks for being so kind.
A king?!? Wow whee! That will be a stunning bed quilt. How could you not have sweet dreams under a quilt like that?
