Three Finishes and it's still winter in Minnesota

You may have seen these before as flimsies on my blog and/or as perfectly quilted quilts by Mary of Quilt Hollow on her blog but here are the finished projects:

Prairie Point Christmas by Cara Wilson on Moda Bake Shop using all Forklorique by Fig Tree for Moda:

and some quilting closeups:

Next is Sweet Spot by Miss Rosie's Quilt Co. using Glacé by 3 Sisters for Moda:

And last is Butter Churn by This and That using Lumière de Noël by French General for Moda:

Mary's quilting is amazing - thank you Mary!

These will probably all be Christmas gifts.

I'm Back..........

We should have stayed in Arizona for another week instead of returning during an official "WINTER STORM" last night.  Enough already!

While we were gone, I appliqued five more blocks for Joseph's Coat bringing my total to 30 with 19 left to go.

Here is what 30 look like:

The color is really much prettier without the snow glare.
Look out the patio door to see today's snow:

I finished March Birdie Stitches while in Arizona:

These are so fun to stitch.  Thanks again Little Miss Shabby!

I happened to be in Phoenix for the Arizona Quilt Guild's "Along the Desert Highway" show.  Here are a few quick shots of my favorites:

It was very crowded and my DH was patiently accompanying me, so I won't brag about my phone camera photos.

Little Miss Audrey will be one year old very soon.  I'm spending the day with her tomorrow!

Now I'm going to work on binding for three Le Petite projects and then get back to my Single Girl.

Fandango Single Girl

Yes, I'm doing two Fandango project at once:  Fandango Birdie Stitches and Fandango Single Girl!

This is the Single Girl pattern by Denyse Schmidt and I am making it out of Fandango by Kate Spain for Moda along with Kona Cotton in Aqua.  I got my Fandango fatquarter bundle at Quilt Market in Minneapolis last spring and thanks to having a color card, I was able to be confident when I order a BUNCH of Kona Aqua from Jackie at Canton Village Quilt Works!  Great service too!

(Once again - the colors are MUCH prettier than shown here - I had glare off of a new 4" of snow!)

I have completed the plastic templates and ONE BLOCK!  I need to make nineteen more!  I am making a king size quilt for our bed. This may be a long (but fun) project.  I'm leaving tomorrow for two weeks in AZ, so there will be NO progress for a while.

Did you know there is a Single Girl Support Group going on right now to help work together on this project?  I'm a little behind, but that is okay because I am learning from those that started before me.  Check it out on flickr.

Origins Sweet Spot

I finished my Le Petite project for February just in the nick of time!

The pattern is Schnibbles by Miss Rosie called Sweet Spot and I used the Origins line by Basic Grey for Moda:
There are two versions and I chose the larger 36" by 36" and I'll be getting this quilted soon.

Stop over to A Quilting Life and Pink Pincushion to see the entire parade of Sweet Spots all in different fabrics!

Doll Quilt Swap 10 Finish!

I finished my Doll Quilt Swap hand quilting and binding yesterday:

It is sixteen inches square and is for my secret swap partner.  I used the method/process from Thimble blossom pattern "pint-sized" but made the whirly-gigs interlocking rather than using a solid background with each print.

I asked for advice after just hand quilting with perle cotton around the outside of the entire center and ended up quilting inside each whirly-gig with a quilting thread:

I'm very happy with the finished product and will have a hard time sending it away;  but I'm sure I'll receive something fantastic in return!

And.....it's not due until the end of MARCH, but I'll be traveling again and wanted it finish.

Thank you to:

I am the lucky owner of a piece of ART from MamaCJ...this mug rug:
....which I won on Sew We Quilt (previously Stash Manicure). I just love it!

And sweet Cyndi from Blue Bird Swing added on to her birthday giveaway by having an extra one for everyone who commented that had a February birthday!

Well, she drew my name for a cute Dilly Dally charm pack, but look at what all came with it:
There is a package of Thank You cards that match a Magnetic Shopping/To Do List, a cute journal and some sweet treats!  Thanks again Cyndi - you are so generous.

+++++++

And lucky me...
I won a copy of Kim Brackett's Scrap-Basket Sensations! on Nicoles' Sister's Choice Quilts blog during the blog tour!

There are so many wonderful patterns in this book, I don't know which one I'll make first.

Fandango Birdie Stitches

I finished the embroidery for my first two blocks from Birdie Stitches from Little Miss Shabby  a while ago but just added the Fandango patchwork borders:

I chose the floss while in Florida and I did not have the Fandango fabric with me (only a photo of a layer cake) so I was worried about it clashing.

I think it turned out okay.  This was fun to stitch during the car ride from Florida to Texas.

Waiting for block three.....
