Bloggers Quilt Festival

As soon as I thought about Bloggers Quilt Festival, I knew which quilt I wanted to display.
Even though some of you have seen it before, I love this quilt and want everyone to see it.
The first time I saw the Authentic line by Sweetwater, I just squealed!  The colors and the prints and the words - they are perfect.  I had it for quite a while before I found the perfect pattern to use - Merry Go Round by Sandy Klopp.

Here it is:

Thanks for stopping by and viewing my Authentic Merry Go Round.

Boring..

I finished another barter with my sister.

She and I went to quilt market in the spring and I was all out of money when she purchase three "Cuddle Cubes" from the Shannon booth.  These are 12 fat quarters of coordinating Cuddle (or Minkee type fleece).

I put together her 54" X 76" blanket with Cuddle on both sides and polka dot satin binding.  It's really soft and cuddly.
The color is ALL WRONG!  It is really a pretty green and chocolate brown combination.

So in return, I got a Cuddle Cube of my own in black/white combination.

This bartering is fun!  It's so cold out already that I need to get this one made for ME!

Twenty Years Ago Today

Wow, time flies.
Twenty years ago I married the sweetest, kindest man ever. He makes me so happy and I am so lucky to have found him.
Happy Anniversary to my husband.

On Sunday my daughter and her husband hosted a brunch in our honor and ALL of our children were able to attend:
To the left my son and DIL and my SIL and daughter, behind us, my husband's daughter and SIL and in front of us, his other daughter and SIL (the new parents obviously).

Thank you to all of you for helping us celebrate.  We are so blessed.

Audrey wasn't in the modeling mode, but did try on her new ensemble:

Winter is Coming

Winter is Coming!

Need to be sure that Audrey has something to wear to stay warm.  I found this Kwik Sew Pattern 2545 (jacket hat and mittens) and some Shannon faux fleece backed suede in ivory and pink.

I had never used a scalloped blade for my rotary cutter so I needed one of those too.  Country Fabrics and Quilting in Brainerd MN had everything I needed.

I started this on Sunday and finished last night! I have met One Thing - One Week Challenge 4!

I hope Audrey likes it!

Cute

Got my package from a certain studio sale today.

It was so fun to open and dig inside to see the surprises:

Just how cute will this pin wale corduroy jumper 12M and cotton leggings be on Miss Audrey this winter?

And it may be a few summers before Audrey will be wearing this 4T sushi sundress, but it will always be in style.

And I have some beautiful dots fabric and beach print knit to play with.
Fun.

Sewing and not quilting..

I've been sewing like crazy, but not quilts.

I had a barter deal that I would make drapes in exchange for part of the cost of an airplane ticket to Florida (I leave Saturday!).  The drapes are finished.  They weren't difficult - just tab top, but heavy, heavy fabric and large pieces.  So happy to have them out of the way.

++++++++

Next up was a skirt for my daughter.  I haven't sewn garments other than baby items for a long time, but chose a great pattern: Anna Maria's Study Hall Skirt.
My daughter chose the fabric and I finished it this weekend.

You can't see it on this photo, but inside the inverted pleats is also the stripe fabric.  It's a great pattern and if she likes this one, I'm going to make another one for her.

+++++

Next up I am working on a mermaid costume for Audrey.

Here are my ingredients:

Time to get busy!
