Time to PAY IT FORWARD!

This past summer I accepted a Pay It Forward from Amanda at A Crafty Fox and now it is time to move it on!

I just finished embroidering these three linen tea towels last night with a design by Gail Pan and they are ready to go in the mail!

If you would like, please comment below agreeing to the following:

  1. You will make a handmade gift for three people to give away on your blog (you must have a blog).
  2. You will do so within the next 365 days.
  3. You will smile while you PAY IT FORWARD.....I have!

The first three people who comment agreeing to the above will get their hand embroidered linen tea towel before the holidays!

Enjoy!

Strawberry Fields Spin Cycle

It's finished and it is probably one of my all time favorites:

The pattern is Spin Cycle by Cluck Cluck Sew and I used a fat quarter bundle of the beautiful Strawberry Fields by Fig Tree.
My local long arm quilter did a wonderful job quilting it.
The quilt is 74" X 74"

Turkey Time

I saw this tutorial on UCreate by Craft Goodies and had to make a few. It is called the 2 X 4 Thanksgiving Turkey.

The only thing I did different was using fabric rather than paper for the design on the feathers.

This was a fun project and will be a cute decoration to give and keep!

Accuquilt Diamond Chevron

I usually wait and post a quilt after a finish, but I'll be hand quilting this one so who knows how long that will be.

Accuquilt sent me a Diamond 4" X 4" double die to use with my GoBaby and I wanted to try something I had never seen before.

I decided to use eight fat quarters of My Happy Garden by Cloud 9 Fabrics that I have been hanging onto for a long time. This is organic cotton that is softer than soft!

I cut a whole fat quarter at one time (eight layers) with no problem and was finished in about 20 minutes.

Next I put them on my design board one way, another way, mixed them up, sorted them out and this is how they finally ended up.

Since I took these photos I have spray basted the batting and the backing and it is all ready for hand quilting.

If you have an Accuquilt GoBaby, give this diamond chevron a try! Let me know what you think.

Mid-Century Modern Bee Quilt

August was my month for the Mid-Century Modern Bee and I asked everyone to send completely PINK x & + block since I knew there were two granddaughters on the way.

It took me a while looking at them, rearraging them on my design board, adding and taking away sashing until I came up with this:

I wish you could see all the individual fabrics in this quilt in person:

The quilt is for baby Cecelia (Lia) Elizabeth who arrived last Thursday:

She is a little dolly and grandchild number SIX for us. We are bless to have one more arriving in March!

One last photo - our view this morning over the lake:

Have a good week.

Argyle Alphabet

I finished this A B C quilt a few days ago.

It shows up a little better outside on the clothes line:

This was a kit from Fat Quarter Shop with the letter's cut from a panel by Holly Holderman from the Dolly Dresses / LakeHouse Dry Goods. The pattern is in the American Patchwork & Quilting magazine from October 2010.

The ric rac is part of the pattern and kit but I decided to add hand quilting with Aurifil 12/2 Embroidery in color #2265. I stitched in the ditch around each block and diamonds in the plain blocks.

My free motion quilting in the red polka dot is shown above.....I did this around the whole border. This was a fun quilt to make. It finished at 60" X 70. The backing is a matching print in green. Hope it keeps someone warm for many years.
