Bloggers Quilt Festival - Bliss Between Friends

My entry in Amy's Blogger's Quilt Festival for Fall 2011 is Bliss Between Friends.

I made this quilt for my Mom this past Christmas to try to brighten up a bedroom left dreary by her losing my Dad, her husband of 68 years, less than a year earlier.

The above photo was the only one taken outside and was before the border was added or the quilting completed, but it shows the Bliss colors the best.
Here is the finish:

 I added a solid red binding and backing.

I also made a solid red bed skirt and window valances.

The pattern is "Between Friends" by Darlene of Quilting Daze.

Go visit all the other quilts in the Blogger's Quilt Festival Fall 2011!
Thanks again Amy!

A little sewing project for Quilt Market...

Through the wonderful world of blogging, I hooked up with Jan of Daisy Janie fame and took on a little sewing project for Quilt Market in Houston to help her out:

Her new line of fabric is "Tilly" and it's beautiful!

Jan even took the time to write a sweet post about my work:
HERE!  Too kind Jan!

Here is the whole Tilly line from Jan's blog:
I can't wait to see photos of Jan's entire "Tilly" booth!  I'm sure it will be beautiful.  Good Luck Jan!

Garden Gnome, Spotty Hen, Wishing Well, Buttons and Roses!!

I've missed posting on my blog for the past week because I've been very busy and I'll show you what I've finished!
First, Little Miss Audrey needed a new Halloween costume and the request was for a Garden Gnome Girl.

I hope this fits the bill:

 I can't wait to see it on her!

++++

I started this more than a week ago, but have been trying to finish it up in between gnome sewing:

It's a "Spotty Hen" wall quilt 13" X 15" pattern designed by Rachel T. Pellman.  It's a gift for someone that I don't think reads my blog.

Lots and lots of hand stitching on this one...hand appliqued and hand quilted.

+++++++

One more Applique 101 block by Clover & Violet finished:

Actually number eight block is almost finished too - I show that later.

++++++

I finally cleaned out the button jar button I purchased at a thrift store in Florida last year.

Here is a look at my favorites:

Those large dark ones at the top are much prettier in person.  I don't know anything about button collecting, I just think these are pretty!

++++

Winter is going to be shorter this year because I'm still enjoying these roses in my yard in October:

She might need a Trick or Treat Bag!

I made that Halloween table topper for us and then..

I thought....
Audrey might need a Trick or Treat Bag!

So this is what I did today:

from

This tote measure 6.5 inches wide x 8 inches tall x 3 inches deep with 13 inch straps

There is only one - the photos show front and back.
++++++

Other than that, I finished the label on my swap pillow and it's ready to send off tomorrow.
And I did some sewing for someone and will have a tiny project at Quilt Market in Houston.  Wish I could go too!

I'll show you what it was after Market.

Lots of Stuff

Yes, how did October get here so fast?

First, I finished my Pillow Talk Swap 6 pillow for my partner:
The fabric is Far Far Away II by Heather Ross and two different linens.  I hand quilted the linens in coordinating floss and added Far Far Away Unicorn double gauze binding.  I hope my partner likes it.  All I have left to do is add a label.

A close up:

 Out in the mum patch:

If you like this quilt:
....please go vote for it here!! Please?

It's flying geese week at Quilting Gallery and it would be fun to win with my 427 flying geese!

+++++

I added a centerpiece to my Boo! to You! table topper and some asked to see it:

All festive for the start of October!

Not the best photo, but a little peek at Sweet Audrey:

Audrey is always so busy it is hard to catch her not moving!
