Bee Block and Applique 101 Block

I had fun completing month two of Two's Company Quilt Bee.
Amanda chose the maverick star for her block.  I had not made one before but Amanda had directed us to a great tutorial, so no problem.
Hope you like it Amanda:

++++++

I finished block three of Applique 101 from Clover and Violet. Block Five just came out, so I'm a little behind, but still moving:

+++++

And taking up the rest of my time are curtains (which you will not see) and
THIS:

My daughter is going to Germany for Oktoberfest a I agreed to make a Dirndl for her.  The translation of the Burda pattern leave a lot to the imagination.

Here are the fabrics she chose:

It's coming along quite well and the only problem is getting together for a fitting.  She only lives 45 miles away now rather than the 1500 miles away she lived for the past six years.

++++++++++
You'll find me here tomorrow - please check it out, it will be worth your while!!
 In real life - I'll be leaving in the A.M. and spending a long weekend in D.C.

Oh my...I am planning on going to Octoberfest too. I wonder if I should be as industrious as you and make a dress.

I love the block you made for Amanda (?). The fabrics are so "happy".

Aren't the maverick stars fun? I would love a whole quilt of them... bright and scrappy. Scrappy is not me but I think it fits the block. So I'm collecting. It's what I do best. LOL! Your block looks great in the red and aqua. Your embroidery block is really cute too.

Love the bee blocks! And the Dirndl looks like fun! I used to work for a Husqvarna dealer and we carried Burda...not easy to follow. And as I remember the seam allowance is not added into the pattern? The fabric looks fun too! Will certainly visit you tomorrow, but visiting DC sounds like even more fun!

Love the blocks especially the Aqua colour...I still have so many old Burda books going back to 1970...Loved them great patterns, great fit, though not easy to follow at times.

Mary, if you haven't used Burda patterns before, be sure to look up the size chart online -- Size 36 does not mean a 36" bust! Can't wait to see photos of your dirndl.

I read your Drunkards Path tute on Stash Manicure, and agree that the GO! cutter is so easy to use to make these blocks. I have quite a few of the larger block runners made, with different layouts and fabrics, and each one was easy. Love the GO! Thanks for the tute!Cute runner.

I am following you and wanted to say how much I like the embroidery in the quilt blocks.
As i started reading your Drunkereds path tutorial on Stash Manicure I wasn't sure how all the solid Colors would look in the runner. Yes I was very pleasantly surprised to see the finished product, fanastic job.
